*Mickey Mouse Club House*

we did it again!  another fun mural!!

*Happy St. Patrick’s Day*

*Wonderland*

i have some awesome news….

but first, i wanted to talk about one of my favorite movies growing up.  Alice in Wonderland….

these days, for the MOST part i’ve really liked Tim Burton’s movies:   Beetlejuice, the Batman movies he was a part of, Edward Scissorhands for sure…. and now his Alice in Wonderland is coming out!  soon!  like they’re actually playing it at our base AROUND the same time its first showing in the states.  i’m excited about his version of the movie and can’t wait to see what he did with it….

SO recently Michelle posted about one of her Charm Swaps, and the theme this time was Alice in Wonderland… of course i joined!  :)   here’s what i did:

little bit of glitter… little bit of vintage alice… can’t go wrong with either.  i’m excited to see what the other participants come up with!

AND a couple months ago, one of my FAVORITE MAGAZINES  put out a call for Alice in Wonderland themed artwork… i stepped up with a Johnny Depp inspired Mad Hatter and i even showed you how i did it:

so on to my news:

yay!  i like how all these things are coming together at the same time!  yay!  i made it in my fave magazine again!  happy dance on fat preggy feet…. :)

*Pirates!*

well actually there was a pirate parrot, but i guess the only real pirate will be the little boy who enjoys his newly painted pirate ships and treasures and islands all over the walls!

i got some awsome help from two great girls, whom are now my new partners in painting crimes across the base.

this is what we did….the customer wanted a big ship as the “headboard” for her sons bed… the rest was left up to our imaginations…..

they REALLY did most of the work.  i drew most of it in, and i helped block in the colors but they really did all the rest … oh i helped with the evil little pirate island  :)   the customer was pleased enough to ask us to paint her teenage sons room sometime soon, AND got us a job with her friend down the street.  :)   i’m just happy she was happy.

my loverly assistants and i , took about 6 hours to complete the whole thing AND the extra added bonus of the pirate curtian below.  the loverly assistants also came up with the ideas for the circling sharks, crusty parrot, and various other things in BOTh murals.  I’m super excited with their help, and also in case you were wondering they’re also great babysitter.  :)
